Local authority reorganisation

Working with another consultancy we were asked to work with a local authority to assess members of their staff in a specific function. A reorganisation necessitated all staff be made redundant. They applied to be rehired and were assessed for relevant attributes. This is not a new situation for us and one that may present more often with the impact of Covid 19. Assessors need to remain objective and detached but also treat delegates with respect and empathy, given they are going through a difficult time. In this, and other similar projects, some assessment results come as a surprise leading to difficult decisions for the organisation. Our responsibility is to guide them through, using the data we have gathered from our assessments and support them in deciding future strategy.
